Is it ok to lie?
In
the whole book the person that lies the most was Raphael, Gardo and Rat (also
known as Jun-Jun). They lied a lot because they were smart kids, they think
first before they do something so they don’t get in trouble. In few of the
other chapters it was not only those dumpsite boys who were always lying, but
there was Father Juilliard and Sister Olivia who lied in some parts of the book
First
of all Rat lied to Father Juilliard saying that Raphael and Gardo needs to use
the computer for studying, because there was an upcoming test, and said that
they will be paying for their computer time, but actually what they were doing
is researching but it was not for the quiz, it was about Pascal Aguila (page
51). Sister Olivia lied about how she tried to protect the boys as best as she
could, so they wont be taken again, but really she couldn’t protect them.
