The issue of the family in trash that the boys doesn't have a complete family, well some of them dont. Raphael had only his aunty while Gardo and Rat had no-one accept for each other, but i think Gardo lived with Raphael or had some of his cousins or his friends with him. In this book Trash by Andy Mulligan, no one was alone they all had each other. I think Raphael, Gardo and Rat was a family already because they never split up, unless they had a plan for getting away from the police when Raphael stole that bag. In their friendship their will always be one person who would be either smart, and they would always share things like what families do, even if they do not have lots of things, for example food, they mostly have a little amount of food and also money, accept the thing that Rat likes to steal from Father Juilliard, but he is also honest about it and always write in a piece of paper that Rat was there.
